You hear the sounds of WWII

The unforgettable sounds of war.

You hear the Germans yelling.

You hear the guns firing

You hear the shouts of men,

Ready to die for their country

You see the Americans charging,

Defending their country and freedom

You hear the generals shouting.

You wish it wasn’t so

But the war is real

You wish you weren’t picked

To fight this war

But you stand your ground

And the other men dying around you

Bullets whizzing by your ear.

And count your stars you weren’t picked but this is what it was like

For my grandfather.
